Information on 32 EPRA meeting in Belgrade

The 32nd meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) will be held in Belgrade from 6 to 9 October. The host of the meeting will be the RBA, which is a member of this organisation.

Notification to Broadcasters Regarding the Change in Ownership Structure

At its meeting held on 28 December 2009, the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency passed the decision to notify the broadcasters once again via the Agency's official site that they are obliged to notify the Agency in written form of any change in their ownership structure, as well as any change in the other data contained in the radio and/or television broadcasting licence.

Regarding the statements in the media that Palma TV will start broadcasting, we hereby inform the public that, at its meeting held on 29/10/2009, the RBA Council acted pursuant to the decision of the Supreme Court of Serbia and passed a new decision whereby it is prohibited Palma Ltd d.o.o Beograd from broadcasting programme in the territory of the City of Belgrade.

At its meeting held on 29 October 2009, the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency pronounced a reprimand against Pink TV and filed a request for initiating misdemeanour proceedings, for broadcasting the programme entitled The Moment of Truth, dated 7 October 2009.

List of candidates for the members of the Board of Directors of the Broadcasting Institution of Vojvodina

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 94 paragraph 4 in connection with Article 87 paragraph 2 of the Broadcasting Law ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia", nos. 42/02, 97/04, 76/05, 79/05,62/06 and 85/06) and Articles 51-53 of the Statute of the Republic Broadcasting Agency ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia", no. 102/05), at its session held on 22 January 2009, the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency determined the List of candidates for the members of the Board of Directors of the Broadcasting Institution of Vojvodina.

Invitation to broadcasters and cable distributors and all other interested persons to submit suggestions for the drafting of additional regulations

In the following period the Republic Broadcasting Agency intends to adopt additional regulations in the area of cable broadcasting and advertising, in line with its legal competences. We are thus inviting all broadcasters, cable distributors, journalist organisations, professional associations and all other interested parties to send their suggestions pointing to the main problems and their solutions that specifically need to be regulated in the bylaws.

At its regular meeting, the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency considered today the report of the Supervisory Measurement Centre of the Republic Telecommunications Agency on the basis of which it adopted a decision on the prohibition of programme broadcasting and a decision on the initiation of offence proceedings against 35 radio stations and 4 TV stations broadcasting programme without a license issued by the Agency.
