The first media literacy training held at the REM

The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media held the first media literacy training for preschool teachers in cooperation with the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade on 09/10/2023, as part of the second consecutive Media Literacy Open Days.

The first day of the training for teachers and expert associates of preschool institutions in the territory of the City of Belgrade was attended by 14 representatives and, during the next week of the second consecutive Media Literacy Open Days, another 90 representatives of preschool institutions are set to attend.

The findings of the survey on media literacy among preschool children in Serbia were presented to the representatives of preschool institutions, who were informed about the Regulator’s activities in the area of media literacy, with an emphasis on programming content rating and useful tools for educating preschoolers about media literacy.

The goal of the Media Literacy Open Days and of the training held as part of this event is to raise awareness and promote media literacy among preschool teachers and expert associates.

Media Literacy Open Days are organised for the second consecutive year as part of the project Protecting Freedom of Expression and of the Media in Serbia (PROFREX), which is part of the Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye 2023-2026, a joint European Union and the Council of Europe programme.
