Strengthening media literacy on International Children's Day, 1 June
On the occasion of marking International Children's Day, 1 June, representatives of the Media Literacy Team at the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media held a presentation on the topic Preschool Teachers on a Mission of Healthy Choices – Click on Healthy, to preschool teachers and expert associates of the 11 April Preschool Institution from New Belgrade.
In the digital age, media literacy is not a matter of choice, but of basic skills, and the role of the Regulator is to provide preschool teachers with adequate tools, so that, together with parents, they can build a healthy foundation for critical thinking in children, actively protecting them from harmful media content.
Members of the Regulator's Media Literacy Team paid special attention to media content of high and low stimulating impact on children and gave basic advice on how to use the tools that the Regulator has developed in the field of media literacy for the purpose of protection, well-being and healthy development of the youngest members of our society.
This event is part of a long-standing cooperation that the Media Literacy Team has developed in cooperation with preschool institutions in Serbia, and especially with the PI 11 April New Belgrade.
